APR acheives sub 12 second 1/4 mile time with a Stage 3 Audi RS4 4.2L FSI

APR’s Stage 3 Supercharger System Sets the World’s Acceleration Record for the Hi-Revving 4.2L FSI Engine in the Audi RS4 B7 With a ¼ Mile ET of 11.833 Seconds at 117 MPH

Audi’s highly tuned 4.2L V8 as found in the RS4 and R8 has been available to aftermarket performance companies for several years now. The R8 applications have achieved impressive improvements in performance but the RS4 has proven more difficult. The RS4′s cramped engine bay and various other challenges that engineering teams face when attempting to extrapolate more power have caused RS4 owners to feel left behind. Some have even parted ways with their RS4’s for other models with more tuning potential.

However, APR has achieved new benchmarks for the RS4 with their latest revision to their recently released Stage 3 supercharger system.

Further evolution of the supercharger’s intercooler system and a new calibration by APR’s engineering team has resulted in close to 550bhp on pump gas (in fact recent numbers from their latest tune are over 580 HP). Race gas calibrations are in development. Proving the new power makes it to the pavement, APR released ¼ mile videos and pictures of timeslips achieved at Montgomery Motorsports Park, a NHRA track in Montgomery, AL, this past Sunday. A Racelogic Performance Box was used during the passes at the dragstrip and recorded a 3.7 seconds 0-60 MPH, 8.2 seconds 60-120 MPH and the timeslips provided by the race track recorded a best 60’ time of 1.784 seconds.

Videos are expected to be released later today, check back as we will post them once they are available.

What is even better news is that APR has lowered the price of their Stage 3 supercharger kit from nearly $20,000 to only $14,999 and it is readily available. Information available at www.goapr.com.

That speed is not correct. Keith posted on AZ that the trap speeds were incorrect. More like 117mph…

This nook is positively a walk-by for all of the break you wished about this once more didn’t know who to ask.
