The upcoming 2013 Audi RS6 is expected to have over 560HP derived from the new 4.0 TFSI twin turbo V8. The rumble of this engine was heard from over a half mile away, and as it got closer, our photographer knew it was something special. We also captured some video, so check back soon so you can hear it for yourself. For now, enjoy this gallery!

Another glimpse at something the USDM will never get. Joy!
Brilliant! What about RS7?
That camo covering makes this look more like a RS4, too small for a RS6. Just saying. Not that it really matters, since we rarely get the good toys over here.
@ John, look closely at photo 7 of 8. Its definitely not an RS4, as the dash has a cutout for the heads up display and you can see an MMI screen popped up. B8 and B8.5 series cars all have their MMI screens integrated with the dash. Also if I didn’t know any better I’d swear that car has a roll cage of some sort along with some racing bucket seats.
Oh, I’m sure it is the ’6. Just saying that the covering on the first photo makes it LOOK smaller than it really is. Don’t doubt ya at all, or with the assesment of the other photos.
@ John looks like the camo worked
Spotted 23rd April in Hamilton. New Zealand… what looked like (ahh…no camera) a new black RS6. It had a V10 badge on the side behind the front wheel and “56″ on the left rear hatch. No big bold Audi badge anywhere – except the rings on the front.
I suspect the 56 might mean 5.6L??? It was stunning!
It is not unusual for Euro cars to be sent to New Zealand for testing in our winter season before unleashing them on the Euro market later in the year. Less nosey cameras down under! The car was parked in the city where a R8 is normally parked. I’ll carry my camera during my lunch walks just in case it re-appears!
