Spy Photos: This is the new Audi R8

Our spy photographers have been very busy, and have caught for us some great photos of the new 2013 Audi R8 both in Coupe and Spyder variants which are due to be debuted at the Paris Auto Show later this year. This is technically a “Product Improvement” or “Facelift” of the current R8 and will include a multitude of advancements inside and out. We can’t say with 100% certainty that Audi doesn’t have more changes that they are hiding or keeping secret, but we certainly don’t expect the “Facelift” to be dramatic.

Externally we can see right away that there have been minor changes to the front bumper, grill and headlights, with similar changes made to the rear of the car. You can see the change from large oval exhaust outlets, to new large round exhaust tips similar to those on the R8 GT. In addition our sources tell us that Audi will be bumping up the power on both the 4.2 V8 FSI and the 5.2 V10 FSI engines. Interior will see more notable updates, including the latest and greatest MMI platform. Another visible change is the updated brake rotors which feature a new honeycomb notched outer design that is done to save weight and increase heat dissipation. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more. For now, enjoy the gallery!
