Audi at NAIAS 2011: Introduction of the Audi A6, A6 Hybrid and more

It has been a fast paced day here at the Audi booth at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. The Audi press conference finished less than an hour ago and Audi released two brand new cars for the North American market. The first car unveiled was the all new Audi A6, which shares many of the technical advancements that have given the new Audi A8 so much praise. After the unveiling of the A6, Audi presenters opened a hidden door and drove out the Audi A6 Hybrid which was release last month in Europe. They also announced a few major items. The first major item announced is that they are planning on releasing hybrid versions of the Q5 and A8 as well. And perhaps the biggest item is that Audi is currently looking into building a manufacturing plant located in the USA. We will update this post with more detailed information, but for now enjoy the images!

i meant aesthetically it is starting to look more like a japanese design with audi than a conservative german look… d4 a8 compared to previous generations.

I heard from two of my dealers around here that the Q5 Hybrid was going to be a diesel hybrid. Any word on that, Josh?

They are confused… I was told to expect both a Q5 hybrid and Q5 TDI. Let’s hope that this is the case!!

an example would be the Ferrari Tesstarossa, with its Pinneforina side doors.
