Our spy photographers have captured the 2017 Audi A3 Sedan cold weather testing in the Arctic. We’ve heard rumors for some time that Audi would not let the hot selling A3 Sedan go stale. As we can see the A3 is about to receive a facelift as part of a mid-generation product improvement. There’re a few changes that stand out to us. The reshaped grille now has the new 3D look, the headlights have new sharper edges and the front bumper has a more aggressive design. At the back new rear lights and a more aggressive rear bumper are visible.
The 2017 Audi A3 Sedan interior will also receive some minor changes including the option for the Audi Virtual Cockpit and the Audi pre sense basic & city. This will align the A3 with the A4 and Q7 and will be the trend going forward for Audi.
The engine configurations will stay the same in North America with the possibility of the 2.0 TDI making it’s return in both Sedan and Sportback configurations. We don’t see the A3 receiving the updated 262 HP 2.0 TFSI found in the new A4. The power levels of the S3 will also remain unchanged.
There’s also been rumors that the RS 3 sedan would make it’s appearance with this mid-generation product improvement. We hope to be able to bring you more information about that soon. But at this time we are not optimistic about it’s arrival in North America.
