2017 Audi A3 e-tron spied cold weather testing

2017 Audi A3 e-tron

Our spy photographers have captured the 2017 Audi A3 e-tron cold weather testing in the Arctic. We’ve heard rumors for some time that Audi would not let the hot selling A3 go stale. As we can see the A3 is about to receive a facelift as part of a mid-generation product improvement.

There’re a few changes that stand out to us. The grill also now has the new wider look, the headlights have new sharper edges similar to the new A4, you can also see newly shaped LED daytime-running lights. These lamps have a sort of gill-like appearance as they’re comprised of several stacked elements. This is a styling trademark we expect to see on upcoming Audi e-tron models.and the front bumper has a more aggressive design. At the back new rear lights and a more aggressive rear bumper are visible.

The 2017 Audi A3 interior will also receive some minor changes including the option for the Audi Virtual Cockpit and the Audi pre sense basic & city. This will align the A3 with the A4 and Q7 and will be the trend going forward for Audi.

There’s also word that Audi’s engineers were able to improve the e-tron drivetrain slightly to allow for a little bit more battery range. How this will affect the North American model is unclear.
