Audi R8 e-tron test mule spied near the Ring

These are the first pictures of the Audi e-tron chassis testing mules. We spied a test team with two 100% electric R8 e-tron models. In their support was a Quick Charger where they will charge the prototypes over night. You can see that they don’t have any exhausts. The rear window is covered in black and the front grill has already the e-tron logo. This full electric version will be launched later this year in a limited edition for more than 100.000 Euros. We told you our spy photographers have been busy! Enjoy the gallery!

Breaking: 2013 Audi S3 spied testing at the Ring

Our spy photographers have been busy lately as quattro GmbH has been using the nice weather to take advantage of testing opportunities for many of their up coming cars. The latest example of this brings us the clearest shots yet of the upcoming new Audi S3. We caught him today in a white color, free of camouflage. Trademark of the new S3 will be the big exhausts pipes at the rear, two on each side. It will most likely be powered from a upgraded 2.0 turbocharged four cylinder with 280 horsepower. All S3 models will come with Quattro all-wheel drive, and the S tronic twin-clutch transmission is available now too. Enjoy the images!

Spy Photos: This is the new Audi R8

Our spy photographers have been very busy, and have caught for us some great photos of the new 2013 Audi R8 both in Coupe and Spyder variants which are due to be debuted at the Paris Auto Show later this year. This is technically a “Product Improvement” or “Facelift” of the current R8 and will include a multitude of advancements inside and out. We can’t say with 100% certainty that Audi doesn’t have more changes that they are hiding or keeping secret, but we certainly don’t expect the “Facelift” to be dramatic.

Externally we can see right away that there have been minor changes to the front bumper, grill and headlights, with similar changes made to the rear of the car. You can see the change from large oval exhaust outlets, to new large round exhaust tips similar to those on the R8 GT. In addition our sources tell us that Audi will be bumping up the power on both the 4.2 V8 FSI and the 5.2 V10 FSI engines. Interior will see more notable updates, including the latest and greatest MMI platform. Another visible change is the updated brake rotors which feature a new honeycomb notched outer design that is done to save weight and increase heat dissipation. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more. For now, enjoy the gallery!

Breaking: New Audi Q5 facelift caught testing nearly undisguised

Audi must be very close to officially revealing the new facelifted Audi Q5 because our spy photographers caught this nearly undisguised example during winter testing. The new front valance was attempted to be disguised but it is fairly easy to imagine what it will look like without the silver and black vinyl.

Gallery: Audi RS6 Avant caught testing in Sweden

We are excited to share this brand new, exclusive gallery with you showing off the new Audi RS6 “uber” Avant, which our spy photographers caught testing in Sweden. We don’t know the specifics about the engine just yet, but our sources tell us that it will be based on the 4.0 TFSI twin turbo powerplant that is powering the S6, S7 and S8. The very fact that Audi is testing this in plain sight without any camouflage tells us that details should be forthcoming very soon, perhaps at the Geneva Auto Show in March?

Audi RS 6 Test Mule Spied Cold Weather Testing

Gone is the massive 5.0 L V10 FSI biturbo engine, in it’s place the latest RS model is expected to show off the true potential of Audi’s latest 4.0 TFSI power house. We can expect the engine output to match if not out perform the outgoing C6s 571 bhp. Currently we haven’t heard any rumors about the RS 6 making it to North America. However, considering the downturn in the European economy and Audi’s push to sell more cars in North America we can only hope!

Spy Photo: Audi RS5 spotted in the USA

Now we have known for some time that the 450hp Audi RS5 will be showing up here formally within the next year but we certainly haven’t seen any on US soil yet. Yesterday, an astute QuattroWorld forum member spotted this completely debadged RS5 on Interstate 65 north of Indianapolis sporting Florida dealer plates. We don’t know if this is just here for testing, or perhaps an early car for dealer training purposes. What we do know is that it is certainly a new, facelifted RS5, and the massive oval exhausts and extendable spoiler confirms it.

Spy Photos: Audi RS1 spotted lapping the ring

Our spy photographers have been busy today. They have sent us these shots of a completely undisguised Audi RS1 lapping the ‘Ring.  While the first generation A1 was never intended for North America we can still enjoy knowing this car exists somewhere in the World. Details are scarce as to what’s powering this RS version but we can assume it’s either the 2.5-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine or an even higher power version of the 220 hp 1.6T that’s powering the S1. As always we will keep you to date on any developing details.
