The saying two hearts beating as one is often used describe the love and relationship between two people.  The same can be said for an Audi’s engine and it’s quattro drivetrain. With today being Valentines Day I wanted to share this image with you. A Car’s Heart And Soul is its engine and in this illustration the heart is an Audi 4.2L V8. Aniruddha Lele took that metaphor of the cars heart and soul is its engine and ran with it. He transformed the famous 4.2L FSI V8 by reshaping the intake, exhaust, valves, and block to resemble the human heart.

The last few years Audi has produced some memorable Super Bowl commercials; The God Father inspired R8 commercial, The Green Police introducing TDI clean diesel to the United States, Chasing the Light introducing the LED headlights in the A6/A7 and this year they are inspiring bravery. The Audi A8 has set new standards for the luxury sedan in terms of interior and exterior design, technology, performance and efficiency. Now equipped with the new 3.0 liter TDI clean diesel engine, the 2014 Audi A8 L TDI represents a dramatic expansion of the flagship sedan and the first of four new TDI models to be introduced this year. 

Audi starts the year off strong with record January sales

25th consecutive month of chart-topping sales; premium category vehicles (A8, A7, A6, and Q7) represents 33.3% of January demand

Audi today reported January sales of 10,056 vehicles, accounting for a 7.5% increase over the previous mark last year. The month also stands as the 25th consecutive month of record sales for Audi of America. 

Coming off a record 2012, Audi is showing no signs of slowing down for 2013. Sales of Audi premium category vehicles (Audi A8, Audi A7, Audi A6, and Audi Q7) increased 13% to represent 33.3% share of total Audi sales in January. That compares to a 19% mix for the most luxurious Audi models in 2008. Consumers continue to demand the Audi A8 flagship sedan, as sales soared 56% over the year earlier. Audi A5 sales also performed well, posting a 37% gain from January 2012 sales.

A new record-breaking year for AUDI AG: In 2012 the company sold around 1,455,100 premium automobiles worldwide, 11.7 percent more than in the previous year. The Ingolstadt-based carmaker thus clearly surpassed its annual target announced in summer of 1.4 million cars – above all thanks to strong growth rates in North America and Asia. With deliveries exceeding the previous year’s figure by more than 152,000, this was Audi’s second-highest jump in sales in the history of the company. Only one year previously, in 2011, Audi had attracted around 210,000 additional customers. With around 110,400 deliveries (+0.8%) in December 2012, Audi reached again the strong sales total of the excellent final month of 2011.

Audi Rated Top Luxury Automotive Brand in 2013 Luxury Customer Experience Index

Audi today announced that it received the top overall ranking in the 2013 Luxury Customer Experience Index (LCEI), conducted by the independent and objective Luxury Institute. The LCEI is based on data collected from affluent customers who were asked to evaluate 10 different aspects of ownership and customer experience of the luxury automotive brands they have recently used on a 0-10 scale. Among the 10 brands evaluated, Audi received the highest overall score of 8.36, recognized by customers for its consistently superior design and quality materials, and trustworthiness and knowledge of dealership staff.

Audi sets new U.S. sales record of 139,310 vehicles in 2012; December ranks as best month ever

  • Audi ends year with 24th consecutive month of record sales; all-time bests recorded across all regions, throughout model lineup

Audi today announced that 2012 was the best year, and that December 2012 was the best month, in its history of selling new vehicles in the U.S. market.

For the full year, Audi sold 139,310 new cars and SUVs to eclipse the previous sales record set a year earlier by 18.5%. Audi sales in the U.S. have increased 68.4% just since 2009. 

December 2012 marked the first time Audi monthly sales have topped 13,000 units, with strong demand throughout the month pushing deliveries to 14,841 vehicles. That’s a 17.3% increase over the previous December sales record of 12,655 units in 2011. The most recent December also stands as the 24th consecutive month of record sales for Audi in the U.S. Audi began recording U.S. sales in February 1970.

Audi Ranks First in the 2012 Total Value Awards by Strategic Vision

Audi ranked as the top $31,000+ brand in the newly released 2012 Total Value Index™ (TVI) study presented by Strategic Vision, scoring 792 out of a possible 1,000 points. Additionally, among luxury brands priced $31,000 and above, Audi improved the most from 2011. Individual accolades include the Audi A3, named the winner for Luxury Multi-Function Car, the Audi Q5 for Near-Luxury Utility, and the Audi Q7 for topping its category in the Luxury Utility segment.

This, in the addition to including the new S6 and S7 sport models to the roster of winners, is the second consecutive year for the Audi A6 and A7 to be selected as Car and Driver’s ‘10Best’ winners.
