The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron starts in Europe

The first plug-in hybrid from Audi, the A3 Sportback e-tron, is now available to order for customers in Europe. Approximately 410 Audi dealers in Europe – including no fewer than 105 in Germany – are selling the A3 e-tron at a basic price of 37,900 euros on the German market. An individual installation check, the “e-tron plus” special package and “green” power from Audi complete the offering for the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron. The compact electric car will be handed over to its first customers this winter.

Audi continues its profitable growth

Despite challenging conditions and a record investment program, Audi delivered a convincing performance in the first half of 2014 with solid key figures. In the period of January through June, the Ingolstadt-based carmaker set a new record with deliveries of 869,355 Audi vehicles. The Audi Group posted first-half revenue of € 26.7 billion and operating profit of € 2.7 billion. In the first six months of this year, the company achieved an operating return on sales of 10.0 percent and was thus at the upper end of its strategic target corridor of eight to ten percent.

German consumers have voted AUDI AG the most sustainable company: Audi tops the Sustainability Image Score 2014 (SIS) compiled by Facit Research, followed by BMW and Hipp. The Sustainability Image Score is calculated from a variety of indicators spanning ecological, economic and social sustainability. Audi Korea awarded “Best Automotive Brand” title
The Korean daily newspaper DongA Ilbo has voted Audi the “Best Automotive Brand”. The newspaper based its decision on the innovative marketing strategy and rapid sales growth of Audi Korea. (August 21, 2014)

A few hours following the successful kickoff to the 2014/2015 Bundesliga season, players and officials of FC Bayern München had the opportunity of another ‘key experience.’ On the premises of the Audi driving experience center in Neuburg, the Chairman of Audi’s Board of Management Rupert Stadler handed over the new official cars to the German record champion this Saturday. Afterwards, a driver safety training session was on the agenda.

Audi opens high-tech complex in Neuburg an der Donau

AUDI AG is strengthening its presence in the Ingolstadt region: Audi today officially put the high-tech Audi Neuburg complex into operation after a construction period of just two years. In the presence of the Prime Minister of Bavaria, Horst Seehofer, the Mayor of the city of Neuburg an der Donau, Dr. Bernhard Gmehling, and 250 other guests of honor, the 47-hectare site was opened by Prof. Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board of Management Member for Technical Development of AUDI AG, and Peter Mosch, Chairman of the General Works Council of AUDI AG. Under one roof, the complex accommodates the Competence Center Motorsport with Audi Sport customer racing, the Audi driving experience center and functions of the Technical Development division. Audi is investing a high double-digit million amount in the new site, which is approximately 20 kilometers west of the company’s main site in Ingolstadt and will provide employment for a total of 460 people.

Audi is marking a very special anniversary: It was 25 years ago that the company first unveiled the TDI engine, which has since gone on to become the most successful efficiency technology on both road and racetrack. Since that time, Audi has achieved worldwide sales of around 7.5 million automobiles with a TDI engine, and at the Le Mans 24 Hours a TDI-powered model with the four rings has been first over the finishing line on eight occasions since 2006. The two latest developments in one of Audi’s main areas of innovation also embody athletic efficiency: the new, fuel-efficient 3.0 V6 TDI generation, and the Audi RS 5 TDI concept with electric charging.

Audi Twin Cup: service cum laude

The Audi driving experience center Neuburg hosted last weekend the service world of the four rings. The international finals of the Audi Twin Cup drew 75 teams of Audi technicians and service advisors to the competition. Participants from 38 countries traveled to the new driving experience center near the company headquarters in Ingolstadt, hoping to win the brand’s Service World Cup with technical know-how and customer focus. The team from USA took first place on the winners’ podium.
