Oh man. I love this. Owned a ’99 A4 and an ’01 S4 in the past, but the current gen A4 just seems to have gotten too big and bloated for my taste. This is perfect.

While I like the new A4, I understand your comment, RogDog. Why do all the mfrs start with a model a certain size, then take it into another size class? The B8 is very close to what my C5′s were. Now that the A3 is progressing into the size of a B5, it too will suffer the same fate.

Well there is a reason why the 1996-2001 A4 grew in size because there was no back seat leg room. Why did the 2002-2005 A4 grow in size? Same reason no rear seat space. The current A4 is now somewhat acceptable as far as rear seat roominess. Check out the old A4 boards you will hear over and over how the back seat space was lacking so they made it bigger. The current A3 interior space is the same size as the old A4 in interior space if not slightly bigger. What do people complain about in the current A3 low roof, and rear seat space. You will hear the same gripes with this concept A3 the lack of rear seat space. What will Audi do then?

My school of thought is why do people buy a compact sedan and then gripe about rear seat room? I first looked at a B5 2.8q, loved it, but we couldn’t fit a rear facing child seat, which led me to my first A6. People shouldn’t bash the car because they made t he wrong size choice. Just my two cents.
