Wörthersee Treffen has been held every year since 1981 in the lakeside town of Reifnitz, Austria and is home to the largest Volkswagen and Audi car show in Europe. Roger arrived early again this year to catch a gathering of RS enthusiasts that happens the week before the Official Treffen and others looking to avoid the crowds the official show attracts.

Audi China is further expanding its motorsport activi- ties in Asia by supporting three entries of the famed Audi R8 LMS ultra race car in the GT Asia Series. The three entries of “Team R8 LMS ultra” will each be driven by a pairing of an experienced professional with an ambitious amateur driver (Pro/Am pairing). The GT Asia races provide the next exciting regional highlight for Audi Sport customer racing, just one week after the spectacular season opener in Zhuhai, South China, of the Audi R8 LMS Cup, the brand’s exclusive one-makes series.
“Our involvement with the GT Asia series illustrates our strong commitment to further develop private customer racing in Asia”, says Rene Koneberg, Director of Audi Sport customer racing China, “We are showing our devotion by supporting the gentlemen drivers with three professional drivers from the Audi R8 LMS Cup”. The Pro drivers for the GT Asia series are Alex Yoong from Malaysia (former Formula 1 driver), Marchy Lee from Hong Kong (2012 Audi R8 LMS Cup Champion) and leading Chinese racing driver, Franky Cheng Congfu (top single seater and former driver in the German Touring Car Masters, DTM). All three of them are competing in the 2013 Audi R8 LMS Cup as well.
Driving car number 7 in the GT Asia series (sponsored by Pauian Archiland) are Marchy Lee and Jeffrey Lee, who won the 2012 Audi R8 LMS Cup amateur competition. Car 888 is driven by Hideki Francis Onda and Alex Yoong (sponsored by Fo- cal Point & Tunewear). Car 98 (sponsored by 2001 Elance, Megabase & Cir-Q-Life) is driven by Philip Ma and Franky Cheng Congfu. All three Audi entries are run and serviced by Absolute Racing.
Since the official establishment in 2009, Audi Taiwan has been striving to provide extraordinary customer service and a variety of great selections for Audi clients in Taiwan. Audi Taiwan successfully built up the “Four Rings” brand image by executing excellent marketing strategies. This time, Audi Taiwan became the first carmaker in Taiwan to announce the official establishment of “Audi Taiwan Race Team.” The team will be competing in the 2013 Audi R8 LMS Cup Asia Race Series. Audi Taiwan also invited Jeffrey Lee, a well-known racer in Taiwan, as Audi spokesperson and racer for the Audi Taiwan Team. This is a huge breakthrough in Taiwan’s motorsport history.

After a successful opening weekend of the Audi R8 LMS Cup in Zhuhai, South China, Alex Yoong took the overall lead after finishing second in round two. Andre Couto won round two after a dominant race, leading from start to finish. Adderly Fong of team KLM came in third.
“We had an amazing race weekend, with 20 cars on the track and an exciting mix of very competitive professionals and ambitious amateurs. The improved aerodynamics of the car added even more speed and excitement to two great days of motorsport,” said Rene Koneberg, Head of the Audi R8 LMS Cup.
