Three days of testing at the Roar Before the 24 have concluded and the Audi R8 Grand-Am teams performed very well. This is great news considering it was the first time the Rum Bum Racing #13 and Alex Job Racing #24 R8 Grand-Am were shaken down at Daytona Speedway. The fastest R8 lap of the weekend goes to the #52 Apr Motorsport at 01:49.277 and they also had the highest AVG MPH 68.812 during Practice 3.

Based on last years numbers the #52 APR Motorsports car has gained some significant speed over last years test. The 1:49.277 tops last years fastest lap by nearly 2 seconds. While, 2 seconds per lap doesn’t sound like much. Over the 24-hour race it will add up quickly and could make the difference of finishing on the podium. While the 01:49.277 set the pace for the Audi’s it was still +00:04.918 behind the GT leader. The Audi lap times will continue to improve with all of the race data the teams were able to gather over the weekend and from pervious testing.
