- Audi presents the S6, S7 Sportback and S8 high performance models
- Newly-developed 4.0-Liter V8 with up to 520 horsepower
- Ground-breaking efficiency with systems such as “cylinder on demand”
Audi will present its new S models for the first time at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show (IAA). These models are characterized by power combined with appropriately low fuel consumption. The engine down-sizing strategy of the brand with the four rings has reduced the fuel consumption of the S6 by as much as 25 percent whilst offering sportier driving performance.
The Audi S6 and S6 Avant
Athletic character, quiet understatement and richly appointed – Audi is remaking the S6 and S6 Avant. Both models are sports cars for everyday use, offering uncompromising practicality. - Media reps experience Silverstone at high speeds
- First victory for Audi TT RS in VLN Endurance Championship
- Marcel Fässler crosses Klausen pass on two wheels
With less than three weeks to go until the fifth race in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC), Audi gave media representatives the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Silverstone track from the cockpit of a real race car.
Last Monday, Audi driver Allan McNish allowed journalists to see things from an unusual perspective, taking them round the 5.141-kilometer Silverstone course at racing speeds in the 520 hp Audi R8 LMS. No less than 20 journalists jumped at the opportunity, and all of them were thrilled to have been able to experience the cockpit of Audis GT3 customer sport race car. Audi will have two R18 TDI vehicles lining up for the fifth ILMC race at Silverstone on September 11.

- DTM visits Brands Hatch after the summer break
- Martin Tomczyk aims to recapture lead of the standings
- Six Audi racers still have theoretical title chances
After a three-week summer break the first September weekend at Brands Hatch (Great Britain) marks the start of the final sprint and the chase for the lead of the DTM standings for Audi. Martin Tomczyk is aiming to reduce the gap to Bruno Spengler, who is ranking in first place, and preferably recapture the overall lead.
The 29-year-old German from Audi Sport Team Phoenix knows how to do that at Brands Hatch. Tomczyk captured the top spot on the leaderboard on the 1.929-kilometer and thus shortest track on a previous occasion. In 2007 a second-place finish behind Bernd Schneider sufficed for him to advance to first place in the overall classification.

- The luxury sedan with hybrid drive is on its way in 2012
- 245 hp system output, fuel consumption under 6.4 liters per 100 km
- Four-cylinder gasoline engine, powerful electric motor and lithium-ion battery
The power of a six-cylinder model, the fuel consumption of a four-cylinder version: Audi will be starting series production of the A8 hybrid in 2012. Its gasoline engine – a 2.0 TFSI – and an electric motor develop peak output of 180 kW (245 hp) and 480 Nm (345.03 lb-ft) of torque. Average fuel consumption is below 6.4 liters per 100 km (36.75 US mpg). The sedan can travel at speeds of up to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) on electric power alone, and cover around three kilometers (1.86 miles) with zero local emissions at a constant speed of 60 km/h (37.28 mph).

George over at Fourtitude has discovered what he believes to be a design buck that inadvertently shows off the new face of the R8. As we’ve heard in the past the R8 is due for a facelift. It’s remained largely unchanged since it’s 2007 debut. We are very much looking forward to see what Audi does to keep the best looking sports car on the road looking that way.
Today we’ve stumbled across this photo released by Audi in some seemingly unrelated materials… perhaps inadvertently, but then again Audi never does things inadvertently. Pardon the pixelation, but we blew it up and pulled some shadows out of that grille to get a better view.
Meant to show off Audi’s LED design prowess, we’re 99% certain the design buck shown in the shot also reveals next year’s planned R8 facelift. When we first glanced at the small photo, all we saw was the headlight. Taking a second look, the photo really grabbed our attention.
Head over to Fourtitude to read the rest of the article.
