As usual, the guys over at Audiblog.nl seem to have a jump on us American Audi bloggers. They have posted up some very tantilizing pictures of a B8 RS4 Avant (Albeit a render). This is a very likely look at what the next generation RS4 Avant would look like. It has very similar styling cues to the RS5 coupe. Let me be the first to say that the RS4 in Avant for just looks and feels right. Something about Audi styling and prowess that embodies the strength of the RS marquee. One more pic after the jump!

I wish you could all have joined me in Le Mans. After all, it was the experience of a lifetime and the Audi 1-2-3 victory was just the perfect end to a great trip. I came back from Le Mans with quite a bit of “Audi Nerd” paraphernalia. As I unpacked all this stuff I had a great idea. Why not give it away to all of you that weren’t as fortunate and had to watch the race from home. So here is how you can win.

Every year the guys from Northwest European put on an amazing all European car drive up to the small bavarian town of Leavenworth, Washington. This year over 785 cars showed up at Bellevue College to gather and get ready for the rally to start. Every driver donated at least $10 in support of Children’s Hospital in Seattle, Washington.
I was unable to attend the drive up to Leavenworth but I was able to head up to the gathering prior to the drive and take some pics of the Audis in attendance. There were some very nice Audis there but also a few that make you go “hmmmm?” Regardless of your taste in some of the cars here, it is all for a good cause and I’m certain that it would have been an absolute blast to be on the drive with everyone.
Nearly 100 pictures in the gallery. View some highlights and a link to the gallery after the jump.

The number 3 Team Rosberg Audi R8 LMS of Kenneth Heyer took the chequered flag in Round 5 at Jarama after the #101 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06R of Christian Hohenadel slowed on the last lap with fuel pump problems. The Audi started 15th on the grid, with Bernd Herndlhofer handing over the car to Heyer at the pitstops in 6th. The Argo Racing Lamborghini of Albert von Thurn und Taxis made the early running but faded in last part of the race when Giorgio Sanna was tapped into a spin on two occassions, eventually finishing 7th. The Chad Racing Ferrari of Diego Alessi and Giacomo Petrobelli was third behind Hohenadel’s strugging Callaway Competition Corvette.

Audi DTM driver Mattias Ekstrom will drive the No. 83 Red Bull Racing Toyota in the Cup race later this month at Infineon Raceway, the team announced Monday.
Ekstrom, 31, drives for Red Bull in Europe and is a two-time German Touring Car Series champion. He tested the No. 83 at Virginia International Raceway before Red Bull made the decision to put Ekstrom in the car instead of Casey Mears, who has been filling in for Brian Vickers, who is sitting out for the remainder of the season because of blood clots.

Ingolstadt/Neckarsulm, June 18, 2010 – Audi will celebrate its record victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours, which saw the highest speed in the history of the endurance classic that has been held since 1923, with its employees at the Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt locations.
On Monday (June 21) the victorious Le Mans squad will visit the Neckarsulm plant where the more than 440-kW V10 TDI engine of the LMP1 sports car is being built. Mike Rockenfeller, at the age of 26 the youngest Audi driver who celebrated a victory at Le Mans, will pilot the Audi R15 TDI designated as car number “9″ across the plant’s premises. Afterwards, from 2 to 3 p.m., Rockenfeller and his driver colleagues Timo Bernhard, Dindo Capello, Romain Dumas, Marcel Fässler, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish will sign autographs in public in front of the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm for one hour.

- Fastest Le Mans race in history
- Ninth victory for Audi in twelve events
- Winning car was in the pits for just 20 minutes
Ingolstadt, June 17, 2010 – In the fastest race in Le Mans history Audi achieved its ninth triumph. Key facts on the historic Le Mans exploit of the brand with the four rings.
With its ninth victory Audi has equalized Ferrari in the roll of honor of the endurance classic which has been held since 1923. Only Porsche with 16 wins (in 60 events) is even more successful. In total, 24 different marques are on the list of winners.
Audi’s track record at the Le Mans 24 Hours is impressive: the brand achieved its nine exploits in just twelve events (rate of wins: 75 percent). Audi clinched 23 out of 36 possible podium places (64.9 percent).
With 39 entrants since 1999, Audi achieved 31 finishes (79.5 percent), nine of which were victories, five were second places and nine were third places.
For the team of Reinhold Joest this was the eleventh victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours and the seventh with Audi. If the exploits by Dauer Racing (1994) and Bentley (2003), in which the team was involved as well, are included in the count, Joest Racing has recorded as many as 13 Le Mans successes.
