I stumbled upon a new video that has surfaced on Youtube of APR’s supercharged RS4 going through the gears. Sounds and looks awesome! From the sounds of it this was not meant for public consumption! More details on this supercharger were posted here a few weeks ago.

It is hard to believe that 365 days ago we launched QuattroWorld.com. This last year has gone by so fast that I never really had a chance to talk about how the site came to be. Most of you know the story well, but for some of you that don’t know the full scoop here it is.
A few days prior to our site launch, Internet Brands (the publicly traded corporation that owns Audiworld.com) announced their plans to make the change from Kawf to vB forum software. They had been talking about this for some time, and completely ignored the overwhelming negative responses by the members of their site. Once they announced their plans, the community was very vocal about their discontent for this decision. Their feedback was ignored and IB went ahead and made the switch. Truth be told Audiworld had been on a decline since the site founders (Jason, Neil & Johannes) sold the site to Internet Brands. I don’t fault these guys for the way things ended up as they each put in 10 years of hard work on that site, and I’m sure they thought IB would have taken much better care of their baby.
I was fearful that the community that I had been a part of for over 10 years would cease to exist. It may sound weird to many but these people that I had chatted with online for years had become my friends. I had met hundreds of them in person. Thousands of them were my customers when I ran Achtuning. I knew them all as friends and I was scared to see this community dismembered by some out of touch executives at a publicly traded company. We had built a true community and they were destroying it… to them it was not a community it was a profit margin and a bottom line. There were thousands of us who visited the site daily and we called it our “home”.

AWE Tuning has long been known for their high quality exhaust systems. It is no surprise that they are one of the first to market with a new full cat back stainless exhaust system. Prices for the cat back system start at $1472 (on sale) and the downpipes are surprisingly cheap and go for only $427 for the resonated or $379 for the non resonated. These prices are introductory and won’t last long I’m sure. See the entire press release, more pictures and even some sexy dyno charts after the jump!

This time 1 year ago, myself, Nye, EdP, Jyoteen and a few others were working like mad to get the site ready for the masses! We launched it one year ago tomorrow, and were completely overwhelmed by the support of the community! Without the support and involvement of QuattroWorld’s members we would not be the success story that we have become. It has been an overwhelming and humbling experience to say the least. I will post something more on this topic tomorrow! The reason for this post is to invite you to party with us!
To celebrate our first anniversary we are holding parties all around the country! We have parties scheduled in the following locations: Seattle, NorCal, SoCal, Chicago, Pittsburgh, New England, Virginia, and more! Check the link below for more information.

United Autosports has successfully completed the first test of its 2010-specification Audi R8 LMS sportscars.
American Zak Brown (Carmel, IN), the Chairman and Co-Owner of United Autosports, and Argentinean Pablo Pérez Companc drove their Remington sponsored #23 Audi with Michael Guasch (Walnut Creek, CA) the sole driver of the ‘sister’ #22 Molecule R8 LMS. Guasch’s fellow American co-driver, Mark Patterson, was unable to attend due to work commitments.
Despite inclement weather on the opening day of the two-day test at the Autodrómo Internacional do Algarve circuit near Portimão in Portugal (8-9 Mar), the American owned and British-based team clocked up a trouble-free 1,200km.
Richard Dean, Managing Director and Co-Owner of United Autosports, commented: ‘We knew the Audi R8 LMS would be good but it’s truly fantastic! We encountered no problems whatsoever.
‘The build quality is stunning. Audi Sport personnel were in attendance for our maiden runs while our drivers and engineers were highly delighted with the R8 LMS and the 2010-spec Michelin tyres.’
Patterson will get his first run in the latest evolution version of the 525-hp Audi R8 LMS which claimed three championship titles and 23 race wins in its 2009 début season at Silverstone (23-24 Mar) when he will be joined by all three team-mates.
The newly-formed team’s focus in 2010 is on successfully defending the FIA GT3 European Championship title for the German manufacturer which begins at Silverstone (GB) in May.
The 2010-spec Audi R8 LMS features detailed improvements to the chassis and suspension. The capacity of the engine’s cooling system has been improved to cope with extreme ambient temperatures. Meanwhile the electronics and exhaust system have been further optimized.
Yorkshire-based United Autosports will make its race début in the opening round of the British GT Championship at Oulton Park (5 Apr) a month before the FIA ‘opener’ at Silverstone.

What a week it has been for us Audi fans! On the heels of all the Geneva excitement we are being overwhelmed with some amazing CGI videos and commercials to drool over. Well grab a towel because you will definitely be drooling after you watch this fully CGI created commercial entitled “Beauty in Engineering” by Aladino Debert and his team.

Audi has surprised us yet again with another amazing “how it works” video, this time explaining the rear sport differential in the 2010 Audi S4. Last week we posted up the video explaining the RS5 crown center differential technology. We are really enjoying these educational and entertaining videos and hope these are the first of many to come from Audi!
