Each year Eurotuner Magazine hosts what is known as the Eurotuner Grand Prix – where European tuners are invited to compete in 3 performance competitions. There are only 2 rules, run the “spec” tire and no nitrous injected into the engine. There are essentially no other rules, competitors are challenged to build and bring the car that will dominate in all 3 events. Tuners prove their worth on the dyno, quarter mile, and road course, a victor is crowned for each event and also for overall.

We have some more exciting news coming from NAIAS. Rumors are spreading that Audi has tipped their hat at plans to bring in an A3 sedan version starting in 2012. Read the story below for more information. We will update as we get more information. – Josh
Audi has had to finally acknowledge that the pool of American buyers willing to pay more than $30,000 for a hatchback is shallow. According to Oliver Stein, Audi of America’s CFO, the company has finally convinced the parent company that the U.S. needs a sedan version of Audi’s smallest U.S. vehicle, the A3.

The Detroit showcar Audi e-tron shows another variant of an electric vehicle developed by Audi
DETROIT, Mi., Jan 11, 2010 - Audi is showing an uncompromising purist compact sports car with all-electric drive at the first major auto show of 2010. The Detroit showcar Audi e-tron is the name of this 3.93 meter (154.72 in) long and 1.78 meter (70.08 in) wide but just 1.22 meter (48.03 in) tall two-seater; just a few months after the debut of the Audi e-tron at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, this is now the second electric concept vehicle from the brand with the four rings.
Coupled with the Detroit showcar Audi e-tron’s low gross weight of around only 1,350 kilograms (2976.24 lb), high-torque power units driving the rear wheels guarantee commensurate road performance. Two electric motors with a combined output of 150 kW (204 hp) and 2,650 Nm (1954.54 lb-ft) accelerate the coupe with ASF-design aluminum body from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 5.9 seconds. The Audi e-tron accomplishes the sprint from 60 to 120 km/h (37.28 – 74.56 mph) in a mere 5.1 seconds. Continue reading ‘Audi e-tron concept car is highlight of NAIAS’
Several months ago we announced the exciting news that APR would be campaigning a 2010 Audi S4 in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge GT Class. Here is our first look at the car on track! Quattroworld is an official media partner with APR and will be covering them all throughout this season. UPDATED WITH MORE PICS BELOW
The 2010 Audi S4 drops the 4.2-liter V8 for a 3.0 supercharged V6 with less power and a strange “T” badge. Is that the recipe for a sport sedan finally capable of besting arch-rival BMW and making our 2010 Best10?
That “old” 4.2-liter V8 produced 340 HP and is still used in nearly every car Audi makes, from the platform-sharing 2010 Audi S5 to the Audi R8 4.2. It’s an amazing engine in all its forms, combining V8 sound with instantaneous revs. Hopping in the S4 for the first time, I was pretty disappointed by its absence, the new direct-injected and supercharged V6′s drone would sound right at home in a Camry and there’s no audible sign of the supercharger whatsoever.
