Audi has released a newly updated take on it’s corporate logo. In a move that many car manufactures have recently made, Audi has refreshed it’s logo with some slight changes. The old school Audi font is now gone in favor of a newer, more streamlined font. In addition the Audi rings have been updated with a more pronounced 3D design. They certainly have a bit more “Bling” then the older style rings.

Editor’s Note: Our good friends at TetreRougeTimes.com had the chance to catch up with Audi team driver Allan McNish recently and talk about the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as a host of topics from his racing heroes growing up to his taste in music.
TRT: Let’s talk about the 24 hours of Le Mans. Last year (2008) was a pretty emotional victory and so was the race at Sebring this year – are those your favorite wins? If not, which one is?
Allan: I think, in terms of wins in my career, thankfully I have had quite a few, and every one has been quite special for one reason or another. Though obviously there’s some that are a little bit more so, usually because of a tight battle. You know when you go off into the distance and you win quite easy, it is memorable, because you dominated, because you obviously were significantly better than the rest. I think at Sebring, and Le Mans in 08, then we had to perform at our maximum to actually achieve.

- Audi Sport Team Joest to compete with two Audi R15 TDI cars
- Capello/McNish and Luhr/Werner as driver teams
- Test race with sights set on Le Mans 2010
INGOLSTADT, Germany, Aug 25, 2009 – For the first time since its victorious debut at Sebring in March, the technologically innovative Audi R15 TDI will again compete in an endurance race in the USA: On September 26, Audi Sport Team Joest will contest the 1000-mile “Petit Le Mans” race, which is part of the American Le Mans Series, at Road Atlanta (Georgia) with two cars.
The two diesel-powered racing sports cars will be driven by Dindo Capello (Italy) and Allan McNish (Scotland) as well as the two Germans Lucas Luhr and Marco Werner. DTM racer Mike Rockenfeller is planned to be the team’s reserve driver.
“The race at Road Atlanta already marks the first part of our preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010,” explains Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich. “We want to use it as an opportunity for our engineers to learn even more about the new Audi R15 TDI in direct competition with strong rivals. A lot of things can be simulated on test rigs and in track tests. But nothing can replace the experience gathered in actual racing events.”

Ingolstadt/Nürburg – By scoring an impressive 1-2-3-4 win at the Nürburgring, Audi re-captured the lead in the DTM at the beginning of the second half of the season. With title defender Timo Scheider (35 points) and Mattias Ekström (34 points), as many as two Audi drivers are ranking at the top of the standings after six of ten rounds.
The dominating man at the Nürburgring, however, was Martin Tomczyk: The 27-year-old German was in a class by himself throughout the whole weekend. After posting the fastest times in free practice, qualifying and the warm-up, Tomczyk set the pace from the outset in the race as well. With a commanding and flawless drive, he repeated his Nürburgring victory from the year 2007. In total, this was Tomzcyk’s fourth exploit at a DTM race, enabling him to advance to fifth place in the standings.

Project Anniversario is a shot in the arm for Ingolstadt, a hardcore sports coupé carrying on where the ur Quattro and Quattro S1 Rallye left off.
Our artist’s impression captures the essence of Project Anniversario – a lighter, stronger, faster Audi S5 Quattro planned for 2012. It was conceived as a back-patting anniversary present to mark Audi’s centenary, but that date has now slipped back owing to the global financial slowdown. But the latest intelligence received by CAR suggests that Audi is still deadly seriously about putting the uber-S5 into production.
